W2

1.
I came in an hour late to work on Friday. My 3 internships all had the philosophy of "work 40 hours a week, at any time of your choosing." DTNA adds, "come in sometime before 9 and leave sometime after 3." so when i showed up at 8:40, i wasn't worried, but it turns out my manager has a strong preference for 8 hours each day, from 8 to 4, and I can flex time if I give advance notice. Not a bad deal, but still not as good as complete freedom.

2.
I did lunges on Tuesday and I'm still really sore from them.

I've had a pretty good workout partner my last couple times. It was my mom. She's an exercise nut and a competitive person, and she complained her workouts weren't making her sore the next day, so she joined me in my routine (normally at 1/6 the weight).

3.
I'm going dancing with friends from the Bridge on Sunday. And I've got a note about redheads, but the blog isn't a safe enough medium.

Week 1 (of Work). AKA- Life, Continued

Hi Dik.

1.
I did FEA today. I'm working on a project where we're replacing parts of a rear suspension with lighter parts so that it will weigh less.

2.
I never get closer to passing out then when I'm doing stiff-legged deadlifts. It always makes me really sore the next few days. I'm really glad I have a desk job because most days it hurts to move.

3.
I think religious flirting is a hilarious concept, but I see it at Solid Rock all the time.

On an unrelated note, there's a girl at Solid Rock that I've been avoiding for a while. She's a bit of a Facebook stalker and I think she's had a crush on me for a while now, but I've never encouraged her. I was nice to her once, so I'm to blame for creating this issue.

There's a girl at Solid Rock I've been hanging out with lately, and I kind of told her how much I enjoy being just friends, which is great cause she's fun to hang out so now I don't have to worry about leading her on.

There is a girl that I'd love to date, but she's taken.

I'm really excited for the Bridge beach trip in two weeks.

It's kinda nice having life divided into three main projects. It's all very simple.

Life

My life is composed of three things these days.

Work
8 to 4:30, every week day. I think it's a great schedule. I had my first day today. Still don't know what exactly I'll be doing. Freightliner leaves all rear suspension issues to 3 people (including me), so I think I'll be doing a lot.

Weightlifting
I drive straight there after work, but not everyday cause I don't work out when I'm sore. I went from weighing 128 pounds in March to 142 as of today. At this rate, I'll hit 160 in August. I need to stop when I hit 160. If I hit 160 and I'm still going/obsessing/discontent, I need an intervention. I was very happy today cause I did 7 reps with 75 pound dumbbells for bench press. A new high.

Finding a Wife
It's going well. I'm meeting a lot of great Christian girls and we're getting to be friends. One thing I'm worried about is somebody getting attached to me when it's not mutual. I want to be friends first. I find it really attractive when a girl proves to be a really good person, but that takes time to come out. I'm also really shallow and want to marry at least an 8. :-P

I think this will be a good summary of life for me for at least the next few months, as far as I know, though there are other small things, like Risk games and walking the dogs and helping out with the toddlers on Sundays. So I probably won't have anything to blog about for a while. Maybe this blog was a mistake and I was premature, which never happens to me, I swear, except in exotic circumstances.

Corvegas

Not an exciting post, but I visited Corvallis yesterday. I had lunch with Lindsay and Hannah. I got in a couple hours of the Office with Hannah. I have to watch the Office with someone else in order to feel the full effect of when the Office creates awkward situations. Then I got to hang out with Dra for a few hours, which is always a ton of fun. Then I had froyo with Danielle; I felt very encouraged. Then I got to take my car home. The Infiniti is a whole other experience than driving an Accord. It was nice. I forgot just how much nicer it is.

A good weekend

Today was my second time with the toddlers at the church. One of them came in crying, so a bunch of them ended up crying. It's funny to see a toddler who's crying grab a toy and start playing with it and continue to cry. It makes the crying less convincing.

On Saturday, I consumed ~4053 calories.

On Sunday, I consumed ~4064 calories.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

I'm not even getting a crown. I'm just celebrating my Americanism.
