Love-ology

I like these events. I’m always really glad that John Mark is saying what he says. One little point that I like is that chick flicks portray unrealistically amazing guys. But I think girls have it worse; there’s even more pressure on girls for an even more unrealistic standard that’s pushed all the time. Anyway, the problem with the event is that John Mark shared a bunch of stories he’s already shared before. The sermon on Isaac and Rebecca is one he’s given before. He did a Love-ology series at the Way a few years ago. Not many people have been part of Solid Rock for that long though. Maybe that’s a helpful thing about the age cutoff.

I think Mike Erre’s a great speaker. And I saw that Mike Erre was speaking at this thing too. So I ordered a book by him called Why Guys Need God. It’s a good book. He gives some new insights, but he quotes Stu Weber and John Eldredge a lot. You could even say his book was a conflation of the best parts of their books, and I’ve read those books, so it wasn’t super eye-opening for me, but I still say it’s a good book. And Mike Erre's preaching at the event was like a summary of his book. Nothing's perfect, but it was still a great event.
